What is it?
Dark and thick hair is a cosmetic problem common to
both sexes, sometimes causing inflammatory processes
and spots. Today it is very common the application
of laser for the definite removal of unwanted hair.
LASER TREATMENT
The laser ray, emitted by the LIGHT SHEER, which is
a diode laser that uses the principle of selective
phototermolisis, that is, the target to be hit is
only the hair, (melanin) and does not harm the neighboring
structures. The laser tip is cooled and guarantees
the protection of the epidermis (because it also contains
melanin).
BEFORE THE APPLICATION
1) Do not use hair removal
methods by pulling within a period of 30 to 40 days
before the first laser session. This method must not
occur also in the intervals between the sessions.
AFTER THE APPLICATION
1) Sensibility
and pain
You may experience a light burning sensation in the
treated area during some hours after the laser application.
If you feel any pain or discomfort, take acetaminophen.
Do not apply abrasive substances or other medication
without the authorization of your doctor. Do not apply
bandages.
2)
Pads
Apply cold chamomile pads during the first two hours.
3)
Darkening (hyperpigmentation)
If there is any, it tends to disappear spontaneously
in 2 to 6 months. This reaction is more common in
people with dark skin and may get worse, if the treated
region is exposed to the sun. In this case, normally,
we use clearing products.
4)
Clearing (hypopigmentation)
Rare, but may happen in an area submitted to several
treatments. It tends to normalize in 3 to 6 months,
but, in some cases, it is permanent.
5)
Scars
They are extremely rare, but may happen in case of
skin lesion. If you follow the care after the surgery,
the chances for scars to appear are greatly reduced.
6)
Make-up
Make-up may be applied soon after the laser procedure.
7)
Sun
No exposure to the sun within the period of 20 to
30 days.
8)
Final Result
Four to five sessions are necessary for the elimination
of 80 to 90% of the hair, in an internal of 2 to 3
months between sessions
