What is it?
Vascular lesions, spots
type "Port wine", hemangiomes, telangiectasis,
angiomas (face) and varicose veins (legs) are formed
by a net of blood vessels that give the skin surface
a pink, red or purple color.
LASER TREATMENT
The laser ray emitted by the machine VERSAPULSE VP
532, through its light, may destroy selectively the
vessels (hemoglobin) and has been successfully utilized
in the treatment of vascular lesions. The VERSAPULSE
has four wave lengths in one so machine and has the
technology of the epidermis cooling tip, which, besides
offering an analgesic effect, allows higher penetration,
without damaging the skin.
AFTER THE APPLICATION - FACE
VESSELS
1) Sensibility
to pain
You may experience a light burning sensation in the
treated area during some hours after the application
of the laser. If you feel some pain or discomfort,
take Acetaminophen. Do not apply abrasive substances
or other medicines without the authorization of your
doctor. Do not apply bandages.
2)
Pads
Apply cold chamomile pads during the first 2 hours.
3)
Scabs
There may happen the formation of scabs. If this happens,
clean the area with water and mild soap, twice a day,
followed by the application of an antibiotic ointment.
Repeat this procedure during one week.
4)
Swelling or bruises
These alterations, when they appear, disappear gradually
in 7 to 10 days. There is no need for treatment, but
if you want, you may use a special ointment or gel.
5)
Blisters
If there are blisters, apply humid and cold chamomile
pads.
6)
Darkening (hyperpigmentation)
If there is any, it tends to disappear spontaneously
in 2 to 6 months. This reaction is more common in
people with dark skin and may get worse if the treated
region is exposed to the sun. In this case, normally,
we use clearing products.
7)
Clearing (hypopigmentation)
Rare, but may occur in an area submitted to several
treatments. It tends to normalize in 3 to 6 months,
but, in some cases, it’s permanent.
8)
Scars
They are extremely rare, but may occur in the case
of skin lesion. Following rigorously all the after
surgery care, the chances of scars appearing are very
slim.
9)
Make-up
It may be used soon after the laser procedure. However,
if there are scabs, apply an ointment before the make-up.
10)
Sun
Besides staying away from the sun, use a sun block
factor 20 30 minutes before leaving the house and
reapplied every 3 hours. This must be done during
and after the treatment.
11) Final
Result
The clearing is seen generally after 2 to 6 weeks.
AFTER THE APPLICATION –
LEG VESSELS
Same instructions as for face vessels (except for
make-up) and also:
1) Dressing
There will be no dressing.
2)
Hydration
After one week, keep the area well moisturized.
3)
Physical exercises
May be restarted after one week.
