What is it?
Pigmented lesions are Brown,
blue or gray spots caused by the deposit of pigmented
cells in several layers of the skin. They are known
as birthmarks, sunspots and age spots and we include
here multicolored tattoos.
LASER TREATMENT
The laser ray, emitted by the machine VERSAPULSE QS
532, QS 755 and QS 1064 may destroy selectively the
pigmented cells without harming the normal skin.
BEFORE THE APPLICATION
1) Anesthesia
Some patients feel a slight discomfort without the
need of anesthesia, while others require an anesthetic
cream applied previously or local injected anesthesia.
2)
Sun
Stay away from the sun in the 2 to 3 weeks before
the applications.
AFTER THE APPLICATION
1) Sensibility and pain
You may experiment a slight burning sensation in the
treated area during some hours after the application
of the laser. If you feel any pain or discomfort,
take a common painkiller. Do not apply abrasive substances
or other medication without authorization. Do not
apply bandages.
2)
Cold pads
Apply cold chamomile pads during the first two hours
if necessary.
3)
Scabs
There may happen the formation of fine scabs. If this
happens, clean the area with water and a mild soap,
twice a day, following with an application of an ointment
with antibiotic. Repeat this treatment for one week.
4)
Swelling and bruises
These alterations, if they appear, disappear gradually
in 7 to 10 days. There is no need for treatment, but
if you want, you may use special ointments or gels.
5)
Blisters
If there are blisters, apply humid and cold chamomile
pads.
6)
Darkening (hyperpigmentation)
If there is any, it tends to disappear spontaneously
within 2 to 6 months. This reaction is more common
in people with dark skin and may get worse, if the
region treated is exposed to the sun. In this case,
normally, we use clearing products.
7)
Clearing (hypopigmentation)
Rare, but may occur in an area submitted to several
treatments. It tends to normalize in 3 to 6 months,
but, in some cases, it’s permanent.
8)
Scars
They are extremely rare, but may occur in the case
of a skin lesion. By following rigorously the care
recommended after the surgery, the chances for scars
are decreased.
9)
Make-up
May be applied soon after the laser procedure. However,
if there are scabs, apply an ointment before the make-up.
10)
Sun
Stay away from the sun for 4 weeks. Besides staying
away from the sun, use a sun block factor 20 30 minutes
before leaving and every 3 hours. This must be done
during and after the treatment.
11)
Interval of the sessions
The sessions of laser application are performed at
intervals of 6 to 8 weeks.
FINAL RESULT
For each type of spot the quantity of applications
and the prevision of clearing varies. In some cases
the clearing may continue to happen for up to 6 months
after the treatment. .
TATTOO
The tattoo is created through the deposit of colored
pigments on the skin that require a laser with several
wave lengths that have as objective different groups
of colors. The QS 532 hits the red and the yellow,
the QS 755 hits the green and the blue and the QS
1064 has as its target the black and blue pigments.
.
The tattoo may be removed completely after multiple
sessions in an average of 5 to 10 applications.
