What is it?
Surgery of the internal thigh is the surgery that removes
the excess of the skin (flaccidity and fat) of the region
of the internal thigh.
What you need to know:
1) Scar
The scar is placed in the fold
between the perinea and the thigh, that is, in the internal
fold of the thigh.
2) Anesthesia
Normally, it’s peridural.
3) Surgery time
2 hours.
Before the surgery:
1)
Complementary exams to be specified.
2) A picture of the region
is important for the evaluation, surgical planning and
documentation.
3) Get a girdle and take
it to the clinic the day of the surgery.
4) Go to the clinic in
the day and time scheduled, preferably accompanied by
someone.
5) Don’t take jewelry
and other valuables to the clinic.
6) Don’t polish your
nails.
7) Any occurrence such
as diseases (the flu, fever, infection) or other motives
that cause the suspension of the surgery, advise in
advance.
8) The use of Arnica may
be done to avoid bruising. This use must start one week
to ten days before the surgery.
Have an evaluation with the doctor for orientation on
the use of medicines before the surgery important for
the healing and balance of the organism, aiming a better
recovery.
Care:
1)
Fasting of at least 6 hours before the surgery.
2) Medication for hypertension
and other diseases must be informed for later orientation.
3) Don’t take medicine
that contains acetyl salicylic acid (ex: AAS, Rhonal,
Bufferin, Aspirin), one week before and one week after
the surgery because it increases the bleeding.
4) Stop all Appetite suppressing
drugs medicine 15 days before the surgery.
5) Don’t smoke 15
days before and 15 days after the surgery. Why not make
the decision to stop smoking?
After the surgery:
1)
Pain: It’s not significant, but the sensibility
is individual.
2) Hospital time: Generally,
24 to 48 hours.
3) First Dressings: You
will come out of the surgery with dressings. After 24
hours they are removed and not replaced. It is important
the frequent hygiene with povidine after each visit
to the bathroom. The girdle must be used after the first
week.
4) Bathing: Shower, 24
hours after leaving the hospital. Dry the area with
a hair dryer.
5) Clothes: Try to wear
loose and fresh clothes.
6) Food: Normal.
7) Physical Efforts: Don’t
drive and don’t lift weight for one month. Exercise
and swimming after four months. Progressive walking
may be started after one month.
8) Stitch removal: They
don’t need to be removed. We use surgical glue
to isolate the scar from the contaminated area.
9) Intercourse: After three
weeks, moderate intercourse.
10) Dressings after leaving the
hospital: No dressings.
11) ModelaPain: Constant
use, day and night, during two months.
12) Sun: Only after 30
days.
13) Massage: A mild massage for lymphatic draining
is recommended during 2 month, to help the recovery
decreasing the swelling.
14) Sensibility: Normally,
there is a little the sensibility in the region. The
recovery is gradual.
Will this disappear?
Every surgery involves
a certain recovery period. Be patient because your organism
will take care of some little problems that invariably
will call attention of some people who will ask: "Will
this disappear?" Always share with us any type
of concern. We will give the necessary explanations
for your tranquility.
Final Result:
Inimically, during
the first four months after the surgery, the region
is in the process of recovery, but, with time, there
is a gradual accommodation of the organic tissues. During
this period, the scar is red and hard, but it becomes
thinner and lighter with time.
After the fourth month a new picture is taken for the
comparison of the appearance before and after the surgery.
This reevaluation may indicate the need for a retouch,
procedure considered common in plastic surgery, which
must be done after the 6th month and before the 10th
month after the surgery.
